Warminster, PA

This is US Marine Bob's home.

He is the first male Veteran (and the first Veteran in Bucks County) we have had the privilege to serve.  Bob used to have a flower bed in the front, but as you can see from this photo, it was a blank canvas!

Bob's ask.

Would it be possible to have a nice area that was low maintenance, but have a patriotic theme. Bob loves to sit out on his front porch with his lovely wife, Wendy. Here our two experts, Peg and Dawn begin to measure the space, cut out the flower bed to prepare for the team.

The new flowerbed

Here is the bed with the grass ready to be removed by the team!

Bob's design

Advisory board member Peg, designs a beautiful space for Bob and Wendy. Thank you to Enliven Planters for supplying all of the plants and to Victory Gardens, Inc for supplying all of the mulch and soil!

Cutting out the space

The volunteer crew removes the dead grass and preps the bed for planting.

A lot of roots

We didn't realize there would be so many roots, but the team removed them with smiles!

AHARI joins the fun

What a great surprise to have our friends from AHARI arrive to help with the heavy lifting. They also brought girls scout cookies, t-shirts, water and masks for the team. Thank you!

Final Saturday crew

So blessed to have this wonderful team to plant and mulch all of the donated plants and flowers.

All hands on deck

It was a hot one but the crew powered through. Thanks to family and friends of Bob and Wendy, who supplied us with bottled water, soft pretzels and even Rita's water ice.

Bob's flower bed (Part 1)

Now filled with evergreens and color perennials and annuals we made sure that Bob's Marine flag had prominence.

Bob's flower bed (Part 2)

Another look at the layout and efforts by volunteer (and friend of the family) Bethany.

The family that mulches together...

Board member, Thom and his daughter and her partner ensure the entire space has enough mulch.

The final look

It was an honor to serve US Marine Bob and his family. Thank you to all of our sponsors, the community members and volunteers that supported this project.
